What do I need to know about a local move?

When a move is between points less than 35 miles, charges are figured on an hourly basis.  These hourly rates are based on the following factors:

1. The number of workers required to complete the job
2. The amount of time it takes to travel to origin, load, travel to destination, unload and travel back to portal (mover’s location)
3. Multiply the time by the movers hourly rate for the number of workers and the van requires

Local moving service can be used to move just the larger, heavier items or all items including cartons and smaller items.

Remember that the service performed is by the hour.  Sometimes small items take as much time to move as larger items.  This can lengthen the time it takes on the job.

Please note that hourly rates do not include supplying cartons for the move.  Included in the rate is the van and its equipment such as pads, dollies, and straps to secure your load.

Written estimates are given based on what the customer wants moved.  If the customer wants just large items moved, only those items listed are included in the Estimated Cost of Services.  If on moving day, other items are added then variances are created in the actual versus estimated cost. 

In the end you will be charged for the actual hours it takes for the move regardless of whether it is more or less than the amount stated on the estimate.

It is very important that you notify your representative of any changes on your move.  This allows us to adjust our scheduling appropriately to meet your needs.  We can also inform you of any possible adjustments in the estimated cost of your move.

Please remember that an estimation is not a warranty, but rather the educated guess of what your charges could be.  We try to come as close as we can to your actual charges.
